Youth Ministry
High School Ministry ~The Newman Center high school ministry offers not only a weekly youth group, but also a two year Confirmation program for all teenage students wanting to complete the Sacrament of Confirmation. The high school ministry seeks to strengthen each students understanding of faith and how our relationship with our Lord can guide and lead us all through the everyday trials and triumphs of our lives. Jesus Christ is relevant in today’s society, to people of all ages and socioeconomic groups. Christ has no boundaries, this is our message we seek to convey in a manner that speaks to the youth of our community.
Jr. High Ministry ~The Jr. High group meets every Sunday 12-1:45pm here at the Newman Center. Our typical meeting place is located in John XXIII hall, but that does not stop us from taking fieldtrips to different places throughout the year. Youth group is headed up by Clarissa Myers and Anjeanette LeBeouf, with the assistance of many sr. high students wanting to pass on their excitement for the Lord and for this program.
All are welcome to our youth group, this means non-Christians and non-Catholics can definitely be a part of what we do. We seek to make the youth group atmosphere one that is fun, welcoming, and Christ centered. There is value in fellowship, especially at the Jr. High age therefore, a large part of what we do is promote teamwork and understanding in the group as a whole. It is our hope and prayer that the Jr. High youth of this program will find the Newman Center to be accepting and fun, but more importantly a place where they can learn the different ways in which God can be part of their lives.
